Happy Friday, Bowling Green! I hope everyone is having an excellent week, because the weekend is almost upon us! Showers enter the forecast today and tonight ahead of an approaching cold front, leading to much cooler weather this weekend.
Shower/Storms This Evening
As we awaken on this Friday morning across south-central Kentucky, we find temperatures quite mild, in the upper 60s. As the day progresses, temperatures will continue on an upward trend, and top out near 80-degrees.
These mild temperatures are ahead of a front that will create the chance for showers and thunderstorms this evening across W.A.B.B.L.E.S. Coverage will be numerous, as a broken line of showers/storms approaches from the west. The Storm Prediction Center has even placed our area in a MARGINAL risk for a few of these storms to become severe, with the primary threat being isolated damaging wind gusts.
Much Cooler Saturday
As we begin the weekend, temperatures will have taken a tumble. Lows to begin the day will generally be in the upper 40s, but temperatures will struggle to moderate throughout the day, topping out only in the low-to-mid 50s in the afternoon. A stray shower cannot be ruled out in the early morning hours, however, most will be dry throughout the entirety of the day. Cloud-cover will be persistent, with mostly cloudy skies overhead most of the day.
A Warmer, Pleasant Sunday!
After a gloomy, cool Saturday, temperatures will rise for the second half of the weekend. Lows Sunday morning should be right around 50-degrees, and moderate to a very pleasant middle 60-degree value by the afternoon. Scattered clouds overhead will allow for some sunshine during the daytime hours, as things remain dry for the length of the day.
Shower Chances Return for Monday
Looking ahead to the new work-week, Monday will start off dry, but the chance for showers and maybe even an isolated rumble of thunder or two increases Monday in the afternoon/evening hours. Timing could change as we get closer, but as of now, expect rain chances to hold off throughout most of the daytime hours on Monday across our area.
Lows Monday morning should be in the mid-to-upper 50s, as temperatures climb into the low 70s by the afternoon. Clouds will increase as the day progresses, but it does appear these mild temperatures will be accompanied by dry conditions (at least during the first half of the business day)!
