Good Friday morning, Bowling Green! I hope all is well, and that everyone is having a good week. Heat and humidity will dominate the weekend ahead, along with the chance of scattered storms daily.
Today’s Forecast
Temperatures will gradually rise out of the upper 60s this morning and top out around 90 degrees this afternoon. Expect an otherwise pleasant day filled with sunshine, however, a stray pop-up shower cannot be ruled out, especially in our northern-most communities. I expect most activity to be well north of W.A.B.B.L.E.S. though.
Saturday and Beyond…
While Friday should remain dry for most, the upcoming weekend is a different story. A boundary will be approaching from the north during the day on Saturday bringing storm chances back into the picture, area-wide.
Sunday will feature more of the same across South-Central Kentucky, with the boundary mentioned above sticking around for the back half of the weekend. Scattered showers with a few rumbles of thunder will become even more numerous Sunday, but I don’t anticipate a complete washout.
Temperatures will remain seasonable, meaning hot and extremely sticky conditions will persist throughout Saturday and Sunday alike. Dew points will be in the low to middle 70s this weekend, which will feel downright miserable!
Saharan Dust Plume
An abnormal amount of dust from the Saharan Desert has made its way across the Atlantic in the past few weeks. During the day on Saturday, we will see the amount of dust across W.A.B.B.L.E.S. peak. This will in turn cause air quality issues for sensitive groups, but lead to some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets mother nature can provide!
