Good morning WABBLES and happy Monday! Who is ready to start and endure another week with me? It’s crazy that we are almost through March. As we begin this week, a spring-like pattern will return to WABBLES, with storms and warmer temperatures on the way.
Quiet Start to the week
Waking up and heading out the door for your morning commute, you can expect a slight chance of showers as you hit the roadways. Temperatures will be mild, hovering right around 50 degrees.
The remainder of the day will be dry as a disturbance continues to move eastward. With mostly cloudy skies and a dominate northwest flow, temperatures will be below normal with high temperatures topping out in the mid-to-upper 50s.
Strong/Severe Storm on Tuesday?
Heading into Tuesday, an area of high pressure at the surface over the region will move off towards the east. An area of low pressure will move into the region, this will lift a warm front through the area during the morning and afternoon hours. The warm front will be a focal point for widespread rain.
The threat quickly transitions into a chance for some strong/severe thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening hours. The surface low will continue tracking off towards the northeast, as it does so, it will drag an accompanying cold front through the area. The cold front will be the focal point for some strong/severe thunderstorms.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area in a Marginal Risk for severe weather on Tuesday. A Marginal Risk means that isolated severe thunderstorms are possible, being a 1 out of 5 on the severe weather scale.
