Storms Early This Week Before Drying Out Again

Happy Monday, folks!! It’s time to tackle a new week!! Storms return to the area early this week before drying out for the second half of the week.

I know its Monday, but YOU CAN DO IT!! (Tenor Gifs)

Monday & Tuesday

As you walk out the door this morning, you’ll experience clear skies with temperatures right around the 70-degree mark. Temperatures throughout the day climb into the lower 90s, and with this heat and humidity comes a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm across the area. Skies throughout the day will remain sunny, except for the development of some clouds during the afternoon hours.

High temperatures around the area on Monday! (NWS)

As we move to the night time hours on Monday and early Tuesday, an area of low pressure will swing through the northern Great Lakes region and with it, extends a cold front that will drag across the Ohio River Valley. This will be the area of focus for shower and thunderstorm development and activity. The severe threat looks to be limited, but you can’t rule out some gusty winds and heavy rainfall.Day 3 image not available

Showers and thunderstorms will linger into Tuesday. (NWS)

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible throughout the day on Tuesday as the cold frontal boundary meanders across the Bluegrass State. Highs on Tuesday will stay in the middle 80s thanks to an abundance of cloud cover throughout the day.

Wednesday and Thursday

An area of high pressure at the surface will develop and move into the upper Ohio River Valley region and lower Great Lakes region heading into Wednesday. This will bring with it a drier stretch of weather across the area.

Looking ahead at Wednesday’s and Thursday’s forecast. (Tenor Gifs)

High temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will hover around in the middle-to-upper 80s with mostly sunny skies.
