Dry Wednesday Before Rain Returns to End the Week

Howdy, friends, and Happy Hump Day. Yesterday was a bitter cold day as temperatures only got to right around 30ºF for our area. Mother Nature will have a change of pace for us. We will have a dry Wednesday before rain returns to end the week. Check out the forecast details below!

One Last Day of Dry and Cold

Our Wednesday looks to be starting off with some clear skies, but clouds will be on the increase later today. High pressure is still sitting right over our area, but not for long.

Just like Monday and Tuesday, bundle up the kids for school today as high temperatures will only reach the mid 30’s. The good news is that since the high pressure is directly overhead, the winds will remain light, predominately under 10 mph.

The sunshine along with calm winds will help make the mid 30’s seem not so terrible, but it’s still going to be cold. Tonight will be fairly cold as low temperatures will drop down to the upper 20’s.

Thursday Warm Up and Light Rain Chances

Tomorrow is looking to be quite a different day than what we’ve had the last few days.

A low pressure out in southwestern Missouri will extend a warm front into our area, and with that will come light rain chances. The rain is not completely bad news, as this system will help raise temperatures into the low 50’s for us tomorrow.

We could see some light scattered showers tomorrow morning, but the higher rain chances look to be later in the evening and overnight hours. The current weather models are not in complete agreement on timing and location of rain showers, so make sure to stay up to date with the latest forecast. Below is the GFS model showing light rain over our area at midnight tomorrow night (into Friday morning).

We could see around a quarter of an inch of rain by tomorrow night. Thursday night temperatures will also stay relatively mild, only dipping down into the mid 40’s.

Greater Chance for Rain on Friday

Moving on to Thursday night and into Friday morning, higher chances for rain move into the area . The GFS model currently shows light rain showers persisting throughout the day.

Friday temperatures are even warmer than Thursday, and are looking to hit the mid 60’s. With light showers throughout the day, we can expect up to a quarter of an inch of rain before Friday night. The heaviest rain of the week looks to move in our area by Friday night into Saturday morning.

We could even hear a few rumbles of thunder around then. We could get three quarters of an inch of rain Friday night, so be mindful of road conditions if you are out. The low temperatures for Friday night will be in the mid 50’s. Yes, these temperatures sound nice, but it will be soggy to end the work week.
