Winter Weather Outlook Afternoon Update

So far today it has been mostly cloudy, and temperatures remain in the lower to mid 30’s. Currently, the temperature on campus of WKU is around 34ºF (as of 1 pm). The White Squirrel Weather camera shows overcast skies.

Precipitation is approaching our southern counties, and appears to be all rain as temperatures are above freezing. Precipitation chances remain for our area for the rest of the day and into the overnight hours.

While all types of precipitation are on the table for this evening/tonight, expected ice accumulations have shifted further north. Impacts for areas of mixed precipitation will start with elevated surfaces, bridges, and overpasses. Roads can also become slick during the night hours.

As noted earlier, you may see a few snowflakes, but no accumulating snow is expected with this system.
