Good morning y’all and Happy Hump Day. After a soggy start to the week, today and tomorrow look to be sunny and cool before rain chances return on Friday.
Today
Our Wednesday is looking to be a nice day. A light jacket or wind breaker is recommended as high temperatures are expected to be in the low 60’s, with partly sunny skies.
A dry cold front will be pushing through the area this afternoon, but the only noticeable change will be the winds shifting to being out of the northwest, staying around 5-10 mph and occasional breezes. Some clouds will also pop up in the afternoon hours, but no rain is expected.
Tonight will be mostly clear skies with calm winds, which will allow for the low temperatures to drop into the mid to upper 30’s. The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Frost Advisory for tonight for our entire area. A Frost Advisory means that widespread frost is expected tonight, and sensitive outdoor plants may be damaged or killed if not covered.
Thursday
Another nice day is in store for South Central Kentucky thanks to the high pressure moving eastward across Illinois and Indiana.
High temperatures for tomorrow will be cooler than today, only reaching the upper 50’s. More sunny skies are in the forecast thanks to high pressure in our region.
Since high pressure has a clockwise flow, winds will be out of the northeast at 5-10 mph. Low temperatures for Thursday night will be in the low 40’s.
Friday
Friday is looking like a cool and wet day as rain chances return thanks to another cold front. High temperatures are expected to be in the low 60’s.
Rain chances increase throughout the day, with the greatest chance occurring in the afternoon to evening hours.
Our area could get up to an inch of rain. Friday night low temperatures will drop to the upper 40’s, so don’t forget a jacket if you have any plans.
That wraps up todays forecast. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! Make sure to check back here tomorrow and follow @wxornotBG on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
