Hot Week, More Comfortable Weekend

Hey folks, I hope everyone was able to beat the heat and enjoy a sizzling Independence Day.  Highs in the mid 90’s hold on for one more day before a cold front arrives tomorrow delivering us a hot week, more comfortable weekend.

One More Very Hot Day

Remember yesterday?  Today will feel just as miserably hot and humid, so be careful when spending time outdoors today.  Fortunately, the pattern of extreme heat will break late tomorrow.

Because of the heat, the NWS office in Louisville has issued a Heat Advisory for our area until 8 pm on Thursday, July 5th.

Cold Front Arrives Tomorrow Afternoon

Some showers are likely to start overnight tonight and that chance for rain will extend into tomorrow morning.  Highs will reach the mid-80’s, but there should be a nice north east breeze and the humidity will begin dropping during the late afternoon making it feel even better.

Get ready to breathe some Canadian air this weekend, aye. h/t WPC

This cold front is the result of a cooler, dryer air mass from Canada temporarily moving out the hot, humid air we have been dealing with for weeks.  This is somewhat unusual for July, but a welcome heat relief.

More Comfortable Weekend Ahead

Saturday will be very nice with no rain, lower humidity, a northern breeze, and a high in the low 80’s.  Sunday morning lows could reach the low 60’s in some areas before the temperatures rebound to the mid-80’s.  With conditions like this, you really need to head outside and enjoy this rare break from the extreme heat.
