Another beauty in store today; rain chances arrive Wednesday through Friday. This morning's Final Finish update has the details:

Hey folks! Hope the week has started well for everyone. I took my last written final of my undergraduate years yesterday, so I am nearly finished with school! Summer-like conditions are on the way this week, and that make it all even better.

Warm and Sunny Tuesday

I gotta say: with Sunday’s forecast, I busted the highs very badly for yesterday and today. It was a baaaaaad forecast.

I will try to make up for it today! With high pressure settled into the region, we should see quite the nice day of weather outside. Sunshine and partly cloudy skies will dominate this afternoon.

Expect your highs to be around 80ºF this afternoon, and its just a perfect afternoon for a baseball game, or a cookout in the backyard.

Overnight tonight, expect partly cloudy skies, with lows falling into the upper 50s.

Storms Expected Wednesday

Our next weather maker is currently in the upper Plains states. This will move southward by tomorrow afternoon, and will be set up perfectly to impact us.

Expect a chance of storms for much of the day as this weather system works its way through the area. There could be an isolated strong storm, but the severe weather should stay to our northwest.

Winds during the afternoon hours are expected to be breezy from the southwest, so expect highs to be in the mid 80s (~84ºF). Winds are expected to gust in the 15 to 25 mph range, so hold onto those hats!

By Wednesday night, a scattered storm threat is expected to persist, as lows fall into the mid 60s.

Summer Starts Thursday

Thursday begins the real approach to summer across the region.

Thursday afternoon is looking borderline hot, as we look to spend much of the morning ahead of a cold front within west-southwesterly to southwesterly flow.

This should help warm us up by Thursday afternoon before the weak cold front comes through. I am expecting a high around 85ºF. With dewpoints in the mid and upper 60s? That will make it feel like summer.

Additionally, the models aren’t too aggressive with a storm threat on Thursday, but with temperatures and dewpoints that high, I think we’ll see scattered storms develop in the afternoon.

There shouldn’t be anything too widespread, but it’ll be enough to cool people off briefly.

Really hot Weekend Upcoming

If Thursday begins the march towards summer, then the weekend is where we end up experiencing summer.

A pretty strong ridge is expected to build across the eastern US, and we should see temperatures approaching the “hot” mark by this weekend.

I don’t think that we’ll see 90s this weekend…but I do think we’ll see 90s next week. The models are hinting at a very warm upcoming pattern. We’ll keep an eye on it for you; you just make plans to sit at the pool and cool off!

Thats all I have for you, folks! Summer-like conditions are on the way, and be sure to follow our real-time weather feed, @wxornotBG for the latest!
