It Gon’ Rain This Weekend

A rainy day is currently forecast across the region. While scattered, light showers are located across the region as of 7 AM, heavier rain will move in from the southwest by 8 AM.

Temperatures will remain mild for this time of year, topping out around 56°. The normal high this time of year is 48°. Take what you can get.

Up to an inch of rain is expected today. This, combined with large quantities of rain forecast to the south of the region, and rain continuing in the forecast for the next couple days, has prompted a Flood Watch to be issued through noon Sunday.

Light rain will continue into the overnight hours as lows drop to around 42°.

Cold Rain Sunday

A cold rain is expected Sunday as temperatures won’t warm much at all. In fact, temperatures may drop throughout the afternoon hours after we warm into the mid 40s in the morning. Showers should become more isolated in the afternoon.

We’ll need to watch for the development of freezing rain late Sunday night and into Monday morning as temperatures drop to around 30° as rain exits the region.

Dry Monday

Watch for slick spots Monday morning regardless as residual moisture will freeze causing black ice. High pressure will begin to spread into the region, making for a fair day. Partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid 40s expected.

Mostly cloudy skies develop Monday night as lows drop into the mid 30s.
