Cold, windy with hit & miss snow showers today…

Good Monday morning! We’re waking up to temperatures in the low to mid 30s across the region. Temperatures won’t warm much throughout the day thanks to northwest surface winds around 15 mph. We’ll top out around 41° this afternoon.

A few sprinkles will be possible this afternoon as well. A snowflake may mix in from time to time, however no accumulations or travel worries are expected at this time. Below is simulated radar for the rest of the day. Clouds will gradually depart the region overnight. Lows will drop to around 23° by Tuesday morning.

Another chilly day is expected on Tuesday. High pressure will settle right on top of the region, which should lead to sunny skies most of the day, and calm winds. However, don’t let that fool you as high temperatures will likely only top out in the upper 30s.

Warmth Returns

High pressure should move to the east of the region Tuesday evening. This will allow for southerly winds to move warmer air into the region. Although lows will still be cold and in the mid to upper 20s, it won’t quite be as cold as Monday night.

Warmer conditions are expected on Wednesday as southerly flow strengthens a bit. Southerly winds of 10 to 15 mph will be possible, as well as gusts up to 25 mph. Highs will top out in the low to mid 50s under partly cloudy skies.

A few light showers may develop late Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning. Lows will drop into the low 40s with southerly winds continuing.

So About That Snow…

We’re still watching for a chance of snow Thursday night into Friday morning. Models have trended away from the heavy snow event they were showing a few days ago, which is one reason we didn’t jump straight onto the heavy snow train. That being said, we’ll continue to monitor the forecast and let you know if anything changes.
