The Headline
Happy Halloween, folks!
We are looking at a fairly uneventful week weatherwise, and today is no different. We’re waking up to temperatures in the low and mid 30s, as clouds cleared out and allowed temperatures to cool quite a bit!
Expect there to be some patchy frost on the windows as you head to work, but nothing like yesterday. As we head throughout the day, look for high clouds to gradually increase ahead of our next weather system.
Highs this afternoon should only rise into the lower 50s, but otherwise, it should be a nice Halloween day. Tonight looks different, though. Luckily, the trick or treat timeframe is looking okay this evening.
Tonight, though, rainfall is expected to develop and move into the region as favorable forcing aloft forces rainfall. This definitely is not forecast to be a significant rain event, but 0.25″-0.5″ of rainfall can be expected.
Tomorrow, anticipate rain clearing out to the northwest, with isolated showers remaining across the region. This will begin the process of a nice solid warm up through Friday ahead of a weak cold front.
Expect at least partly sunny skies, but clouds should be around for much of the day. Temperatures are expected to rise all day tomorrow, so our high for Wednesday will likely be hit around midnight tomorrow.
That high should be around 60°F, and it will be warming behind a stiff breeze. Once the warm front comes through mid afternoon, the winds will rapidly shift to the south, and will be quite breezy.
By Thursday, partly sunny skies are expected to continue, with very isolated showers. Expect highs in the upper 60s to around 70, with another afternoon of breezy conditions expected.
The forecast beyond Thursday is a bit convoluted. I’m expecting rain on Friday as the cold front sags southward into the region, but that shouldn’t amount to too much.
The front should hang around the region as a stationary front, which will make the forecast odd to work with as we head towards it.
The Forecast
Today: Mostly sunny, with increasing clouds this afternoon. Highs around 51°F. Overnight, cloudy, with rainfall after midnight. Lows around 42°F.
Tomorrow: Rain gradually tapering off to isolated showers. Partly to mostly cloudy, with highs around 61°F at midnight. Overnight, look for clouds and breezy conditions to continue. Lows around 58°F.
Thursday: Breezy and warm, with partly sunny skies and isolated showers. Highs around 73°F. Overnight, look for rainfall to increase late, with lows around 64°F.
