Isolated Storms Only Weekend Weather Threat

Good July 1st morning, folks! I cannot believe that it is the first weekend of July already. I feel like it was just January, but I also feel like I just started college (I am now gonna be a senior).

Everything is moving quickly, and this forecast will too! There isn’t too much to talk about, so we’ll get right to it.

The next few days look to be dominated by continual heat and humidity, and that will continue into July 4th. The weather the next couple of days specifically will be driven by a weak and slow moving cold front across the region. It has become relatively diffuse to our northwest, as temperatures and moisture content aren’t too different on either side of the front.

The cold front that is present to our west is very week, but may be a source for isolated storm activity this afternoon. h/t COD Weather

This will give us the threat for isolated thunderstorm activity. This morning we are already looking at a light batch of rain heading our way.

The rain to our west is probably gonna move just to our north. h/t COD Weather

This shouldn’t be too heavy, just some light showers. They may even move to the north of BG this morning, but either way, they’re present just to our west, and should be moving through around mid morning.

Today: Partly sunny, with isolated showers and storms. Highs around 85°F. Overnight, look for partly cloudy skies, with lows around 66°F.

Tomorrow and Monday look pretty boring weather wise, as well. The weak cold front will be present just to our south tomorrow afternoon, and with warmer temps and moisture still present, we may see an isolated storm.

It is a low threat, so don’t anticipate it. Monday looks to feature more of the same. Warmer temps, with oppressive dewpoints still present. A passing disturbance in the atmosphere during the midday timeframe? Yep, anticipate the possibility for isolated storms Monday afternoon.

Otherwise, just hot and humid leading up to the Fourth of July, which is pretty typical for this time of year.

Tomorrow: Partly cloudy, with highs around 86°F. Overnight, look for partly to mostly cloudy skies, with lows around 68°F.

Monday: Partly cloudy, with isolated storms in the afternoon hours. Highs around 90°F. Overnight, look for partly cloudy skies, with lows around 70°F.

Well, that is all I have for you! As a brief aside for the 4th, it looks pretty dang hot outside, so be ready for that! Well, that’s all I got for y’all! Make sure to follow @wxornotBG on Twitter and like Landon Hampton on Facebook for the latest weather information. Have a great weekend!
