Forecast Discussion

Good morning, everybody! It looks like we’re going to have an active weather pattern over the next few days with rain and thunderstorm chances increasing into the weekend. So, buckle up and get ready to forecast! (Just kidding, you don’t have to forecast, but I will!)

It’s definitely going to be hot and humid today, as southwesterly wind flow brings in moisture from the Gulf evident by dewpoints in the upper 60’s or even low 70’s by Friday. There is a low pressure system to our north and east, with a cold front draped across the area to our west. Because of this impending cold front, we’ll be seeing isolated to scattered rain and thunderstorm chances across the area starting tonight and through the weekend.

Today and tomorrow look very similar in the way of temperatures and even shower activity. There is the chance for some scattered shower activity; however, most of us will remain mostly dry over this two-day period.

The  aforementioned cold front will approach our area tomorrow, but will stall out across the area Friday night into Saturday night. This will likely increase rain chances to widespread thunderstorm/shower activity. Unfortunately, it’ll be hot and humid again on Saturday with dewpoints in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s. Widespread severe weather is not expected with this system, and this doesn’t look to be a heavy rain event either, so that’s good. The cold front will move through the area on Sunday, leaving behind a lot less muggy weather!
