Bowling Green Weather was pretty terrible yesterday. Not only was it cold, but it was cloudy as well. This created a level of gloominess that I’m not sure can be replicated. Clouds and cold temps definitely get a thumbs down in my book.

Discussion
This discussions pretty simple outside of the whole “wintry mix is possible Saturday” talk. Although, that system is very complicated, very fun to watch evolve right now and will make Bowling Green Weather interesting.
Today is going to be very cold. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. Its already really cold out there, so be sure that the kids get bundled up going out to the bus stop!
Highs won’t escape the mid 20s today, and the best part? Its gonna be sunny all day. At least it won’t be gloomy while its cold again! Tonight will be similar – cold. Very cold again. That has been a common thing recently, hasn’t it?
Tomorrow and Saturday are gonna be really interesting. There is a legitimate shot that we rise from the mid teens tomorrow morning into the mid 60s by Saturday afternoon, and then we fall back into the 20s. All within 48 hours.
Tomorrow will start off cold, just like normal. However, the surface low that will begin to be forced to our west will extent its warm front this far east. What will this do? It will begin an 18-24 hour period of absolutely ridiculous warm air advection.
Temperatures are forecast to be between 16°F and 18°F tomorrow morning around 7 am. By Saturday around 2 pm it’ll be pushing 65°F, and that may be under-forecast as well. The low pressure system that will be doing the dirty work on this is forecast to propagate into the Great Lakes region by Saturday evening. We’ll be firmly entrenched in the warm sector, with southwesterly flow likely for the majority of the day before the front comes through.
It will most likely be cloudy throughout the day, but that shouldn’t discourage rapid warming during the day. Showers and possibly storms should increase by Saturday evening as the front approaches. Heavy rainfall will be the major threat from this as the front pushes through.
Models are now trying to get back on board with the idea that an additional area of precipitation will form behind the cold front Saturday night and Sunday morning, and will drop some light snow across the region.
I don’t think that this event will be significant by any means, but there are scenarios that could lead to it being impactful. Overall, anticipate a rapid warm up, only to cool right back down again.
