Bowling Green Weather Gets…Possibly Wintry?

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

I call what fell yesterday “aggressive mist”. More of a nuisance than anything else, especially if you were walking outside. Oh, and it was chilly, which made it even worse. But Bowling Green did get around a tenth of an inch of rain out out of it, so all and all not too terrible.

Forecast Discussion

Yes, I said it. I said the word that has the power to clear out entire grocery stores, but rest assured, that won’t be happening here, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

We’ll spend most of today in between systems, keeping the day cloudy and just kind of cool.

But, our next system will be on the approach and will finally arrive in the evening, throwing some more of the wet stuff our way.

And that rain will stick with us through at least the early half of our day on Tuesday. But, of course, another system is waiting in the wings and this one has a little bit more in the way of cold air to work with as we head towards Wednesday and especially Wednesday night. Clouds will thicken as the system moves toward us on Wednesday and will begin to impact us during the overnight.

Notice those lower 30s headed in our direction but notice how the surface in Bowling Green is still above freezing. Now, there is the possibility of precipitation as this system moves overhead Wednesday night.

I mean, it’s not a lot of precipitation but the potential is there for a little bit of snow mixing in with the light rain. Of course with ground temperatures so warm, none of this will stick and outside of just some wet roads, there will be no great impact on travel. But the potential is there to see a couple of flakes fly. Emphasis on “a couple”.

Extended Outlook

Yep, the temperatures in the medium-range look to be quite chilly. In fact, some of the data is indicating temperatures dipping below 20ºF late Thursday night…brrr!
