Fall Has Arrived For Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

Yesterday was the first real Fall day of the year! We have had days that have been fairly close, but not quite what yesterday was. Yesterday was cold, windy and partly sunny. It doesn’t get much better than that in my opinion! I love it! Of course, now most of the foliage is gone, but that is okay. It needed to go.

Discussion

What an interesting forecast that lie ahead! First, though, I gotta talk about this cold right now.

It is fascinating to me to dichotomy of our weather. I understand the reasoning behind all of this, but to the regular person it doesn’t make sense! Friday hit a high of 80°F, which then fell to a high of 50°F. It is quite amazing, to be really honest.

But, yes, Fall has finally arrived! Fall (for me) is defined by really cold temps, partly sunny skies, windy conditions, and leaves flying everywhere. Yesterday had all of that.

If you take away the wind, the next couple of days will find themselves in that same tier of November days! As we all collectively prepare for Turkey on Thursday, anticipate today and the beginning of your very short workweek to feature not so warm temperatures, as that cool Canadian high pressure sits over us. Highs won’t make it past 50 either day, and both nights will see hard freezes, with temps falling well into the 20s.

By Tuesday, though, we are looking at a nice warming trend. Ahead of a developing low pressure system, anticipate partly cloudy skies to develop, and likely become thicker as the day progresses. This low pressure system will impact us on Wednesday, but its affects will be felt by Tuesday afternoon as highs rush into the upper 50s.

I think the NAM is a bit underdone in its temp forecast, but the point remains! h/t pivotalweather.com

By Tuesday night, we’ll see cloudy skies keep temps elevated, and some rain late in the night. Wednesday looks to be kinda crummy, with rainfall likely throughout the day (we need it, though).

Today’s Key Points

  • Cold today and tomorrow, but especially today/tonight
  • Warming trend on Tuesday
  • Rainfall likely by Wednesday
