Yesterday’s Weather

Now this is what fall’s supposed to feel like. Mid-60s, just enough for a light jacket or sweatshirt but keep the heavy winter jacket in the closet. Seriously, I have nothing else to say other than yesterday was the perfect fall day.

Forecast Discussion

That about sums it up. Of course, you’d think sunshine and highs in the 60s would be a good thing and usually it is, but because we haven’t seen significant rainfall in a long time, in fact, so far for the month Bowling Green sits at just 0.02″ of rain. I know we’re only 11 days into the month but normally by this point, we’ve gotten around 1.3″ of rain in the month. Since September 1, Bowling Green as only seen 2.15″ of rain, that’s almost 6.5″ below normal. Will we get some rain to help bust this drought? Well… the answer is unfortunately…

*sigh*

Even though there’s a cold front that will be moving through during the day today, because it’s so dry, it won’t make much of an impact other than switching our winds around to the northwest.

After this cold front sweeps through, we will then be under the influence of a massive dome of Canadian high pressure. That’s not going to change our weather a whole lot but you might have the urge to start tacking “eh” onto the end of your sentences. But really, we might not make it out of the 50s under full sunshine tomorrow afternoon.

I think the NAM-4K is under doing the temperatures a bit but no question about it, that’s crisp territory. And that means on Saturday night we might be flirting with the freezing mark. Haven’t seen that in awhile!

Sunday features more of the same, only slightly warmer as the high shifts ever so slightly farther to the east, allowing the winds to shift back to the south and southwest and bring up slightly warmer air. We go from the “crisp” category to the “comfortably cool” category to close out the weekend and I’m just fine with that.

Extended Outlook

Looking ahead, the cooler sunny weather looks to stay with us through the bulk of next week before the next possibility of rain enters the picture late week and into the first half of next weekend as a fairly strong storm system moves across the country and into our neck of the woods. We have about a week to look at this as it moves closer but keep those fingers crossed for some rain around here.

That just about does it for me! Thanks for checking into WxOrNotBG this morning, and be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WKUweather on Twitter and like Landon Hampton on Facebook for the latest Bowling Green Weather information. Hope you have a terrific Friday.
