Forecast Discussion

A rather boring forecast will take shape for the coming days as we’re currently transitioning between synoptic systems.

Today, a ridge in place across the region will slowly drift to the east. However, nice conditions will remain in place for today. Expect partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 70s for today. Not too shabby.

On Tuesday, a longwave trough will begin its approach into the region. This will bring some southwest flow into the area, leading to an uptick in temperatures. I have adjusted the high temperature forecast to the high 70s. However, I still expect fair conditions to remain in place, thus party cloudy to mostly sunny skies are forecast.

The longwave trough will continue its eastward progress on Wednesday. However, upper level southwest flow will weaken a bit across the area. Thus, I have adjusted high temperatures back down a few degrees. This lack of upper level support should keep things dry as well. However, isolated showers may be possible overnight as a front moves through.

Extended Outlook

Above normal temperatures are expected over the next 6-10, as well as 8-14 days. Normal amounts of precipitation should be expected during that same time frame. It should be noted that the normal high temperature for this time of year is 74°.

That should wrap up this forecast. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WKUweather for the latest Bowling Green weather information. Have a great Monday!
