Warmer Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Yesterday’s Weather

How awesome was yesterday’s weather? It wasn’t too warm, and by the evening, there was a little bit of fall in the air. That was maybe the most exciting portion of the weather, though. I am so ready for Fall weather that it is crazy.

Discussion

Well, these have been an interesting few days for weather!

If by interesting I mean amazing, then yes, they have been. But there is another interesting aspect to this. Post-tropical storm Hermine, which made landfall in Florida on Thursday night as a hurricane, is now churning just off of the Mid-Atlantic coast, and has been reinforcing our trough.

500 mb, observed heights from last evening. This shows the impact that the leftover portions of Hermine have had on the trough. h/t SPC

Because of this, the weather today looks fairly similar to the weather yesterday. Highs will only end up in the mid 80s, but dewpoints may be higher, making it feel nasty outside.

Overnight tonight, look for mostly clear skies, with lows in the upper 60s. Looking into your Monday, things begin to heat up again. This is a very sad thing to think about. One, I am tired of the heat. Two, I am tired of sweating when I get to class after walking up the hill. That is the worst.

A ridge will begin to build into the region during the day on Monday, and this will heat us up. I see highs pushing into the lower 90s, with higher dewpoints as well.

There won’t even be thunderstorms to cool us off! A lack of forcing will be the culprit there, with skies only becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon and nothing more. Overnight tomorrow night, look for partly cloudy skies, and lows falling into the lower 70s.

On Tuesday, it looks to get even hotter. I actually think Tuesday will be the hottest day of the week.

The ridge will be centered directly over the region, which will keep storms to a minimum again, and will allow highs to rise right into the mid 90s.

Combine this with dewpoints in the 70s? Its gonna feel terrible outside on Tuesday. Oh well. Overnight on Tuesday night, look for partly cloudy skies, with lows in the mid 70s.

Extended Outlook

The extended outlook looks better than the short term outlook, in my opinion. By the end of this week, we should begin to get into a much more active pattern, with cool downs coming sooner, and storms becoming possible with those cool downs.
