Discussion
Well, because nothing really significant looks to happen over the next few days, we are celebrating the cool down with a GIF forecast!
I am very excited about this, as it is the first true GIF forecast that I have done in a couple of weeks. Yesterday evening, a trough that was digging on the eastern side of a developing ridge approached the region. The cold front associated with that is now moving through the region, and ushering in nice weather.
Dewpoints are in the 50s to our north! Expect that to filter into our region this afternoon, with breezy conditions developing. Highs this afternoon should end up around 80°F, under partly cloudy skies.
Also: today is WKU Football Gameday! I am really excited, and the weather couldn’t be better. Kickoff is looking great, with mostly sunny (the sun will be setting) skies, with temperatures right in the mid 70s. By the end of the game, a bit of a chill will be in the air, with temperatures falling into the mid and upper 60s.
Overnight tonight, look for clear skies, with lows in the upper 50s. Tomorrow looks to be the best day imaginable, especially with respect to the weather that we have been dealing with recently.
Tomorrow is the day to go outside and enjoy everything there is to enjoy about…well, anything. Cookout? Great weather. High school football? Great weather. Tomorrow looks to be the day.
Sunny skies will dominate the region, with highs jumping into the upper 70s. It looks to be a bit breezy tomorrow afternoon, as current Tropical Storm Hermine moves in land and tightens the pressure gradient between it and the high to our north. That will create a breezy northeasterly flow by tomorrow afternoon, but that won’t ruin anything.
Overnight, look for mostly clear skies, with lows in the upper 50s. Looking at Saturday, it looks good again!
Fairly low dewpoints will be across the region still, with highs jumping into the low to mid 80s across the region. This will allow for the weather to continue to be nice into this weekend. That is exciting.
The trough will be moving eastward on Saturday, but even so, its still gonna be nice and feel nice. Overnight, look for partly cloudy skies and lows in the lower 60s.
Extended Outlook
It looks as if it is gonna get really warm again during the early to mid week timespan next week, but there are still a lot of factors to consider before making that forecast. We will have to see what happens with Hermine, and how that system evolves.
