Today looks to have the greatest chance for showers and thunderstorms, as that front that we’ve been talking about over the last several days lies just to our south. This will cause us to have another round of heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Once this round of precipitation passes us, we should remain dry for the rest of day, allowing temperatures to reach the mid 80’s across the region. Overnight, there may be a stray shower or two across the region, but nothing like this morning’s rain. Lows will dip down into the low 70’s overnight.

Both Thursday and Friday look to be fairly boring with the frontal boundary to our south and an impending trough to our west. At this point, we are in between two different systems, making our weather pretty boring. As that aforementioned boundary continues to move southward, it will decrease our chances for showers and thunderstorms drastically. If we do see any thunderstorms, though, they will be due mainly to diurnal heating of the atmosphere, occurring in the afternoon.

Both Thursday and Friday, highs will be in the mid 80’s with isolated thunderstorms possible. Overnight lows will in the low 70’s across the region.

Extended Outlook

The Climate Prediction Center has forecasted our region to have below normal temperatures, but normal precipitation across the region over the next 6-10 time period.
