Real-Time Bowling Green Radar
Yesterday’s Weather
Yesterday had some of the best weather we have seen in a few weeks. With northerly flow behind a weak front, we saw a drier airmass settle over SoKY and much of the western part of the state. My forecast for yesterday on Sunday wasn’t very good, but Jacob Wilkins knocked it out of the park.

Discussion
The next few days look fairly interesting across the region!
That is both exciting, and not exciting. Its exciting because of the storms we’ll see, but it isn’t exciting because of the return of the humidity.
The basic set up over the next few days will feature weak mid-level flow across the region, with a pronounced, and occasionally closed, low level low across the Gulf Coast to our south.
This will pump deep and rich Gulf moisture into the region beginning today, with PWAT values likely climbing well above 2″ and remaining in that ballpark through the forecast period.
The southeasterly flow associated with this Gulf low will run into a weak surface and low level trough, and this will help to spark off scattered storms today. Any storms that form will be capable of heavy rainfall and lightning. Highs will end up in the mid to upper 80s this afternoon.
Overnight, we’ll see partly cloudy skies, with isolated storms. Lows will end up in the mid 70s. Wednesday looks to have a similar set up.
With southeasterly flow in the mid-levels, this will help to force scattered afternoon storms across the region. Again, with deep and rich moisture values across the region, heavy rainfall and flash flooding will be the highest threats, with lightning being a threat as well.
Highs will end up in the upper 80s across the region. Overnight, look for isolated storms to continue, with lows in the mid 70s. Thursday looks a bit more interesting.
In addition to a bit of a northward advancement of the Gulf low and associated moisture, a shortwave will be moving towards the region, and will enhance precipitation chances again.
Heavy rainfall will be an issue again. Highs will end up in the mid to upper 80s.
Overnight, look for skies to be partly cloudy, with scattered storms remaining possible. Lows in the mid 70s.
Extended Outlook
Looking in the long range, period beyond Thursday through the weekend looks fairly stormy, with storm chances likely everyday through early next week.
