Forecast Discussion

Another fairly nice day is on tap across the region. Although temperatures will be a little on the warm side once again, lower dew points should make things a little bit more tolerable. Instead of dew points being in the mid 70s, they’ll likely be in the mid to upper 60s across the region!

There will be enough moisture to produce a few clouds in the noon to afternoon hours. These clouds may linger into the overnight as moisture returns to the region due to a slight southerly flow. No rain is expected today or tonight.

As mentioned earlier, southerly flow at the surface, as well as aloft, will allow moisture back into the region. Unfortunately, dew points will be back in the 70s on Tuesday, making for more muggy conditions. Highs will be in the upper 80s. A few isolated showers and thunderstorms may form in the afternoon in the heat of the day. Precipitable Water values will be betwee. 2.25″ and 2.5″, meaning heavy rain will be possible with any storms that form.

Although less likely, isolated thunderstorms may continue Tuesday night. In general these shouldn’t last long and will likely decrease in coverage.

A rinse and repeat forecast is in store for Wednesday as isolated pop-up showers and storms will once again be possible. Highs will approach 90° on Wednesday, with dew points in the 70s, once again making for muggy conditions. High PWAT values means heavy rain will be likely in any storms that do form. Here we go again…

Long Term Outlook

For once, normal temperatures are expected in the long term outlook! However, it should be noted that the normal high temperature for this time of year is around 90°, so it will still be on the toasty side. Above normal precipitation is expected over the next couple of weeks. So basically, the same weather continues, just a bit cooler.

That should wrap up this forecast. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG for the latest Bowling Green weather forecasts. Have a great day!
