Discussion
Today really looks to be quite a nice day. We’ll start off the day sunny, but will gradually see clouds roll in, leading to partly cloudy coverage. Temperatures look to be very comfortable with highs in the mid 80’s. Dewpoints look to increase throughout the day, but we won’t be near as muggy, as we were last week, just yet.

A shortwave trough moving southeastward will approach our region overnight tonight, bringing in clouds and those dreaded rain chances.

From Friday through the weekend, our rain chances look to increase every day. Tomorrow, however, doesn’t look like it will be all that wet. The aforementioned shortwave with an associated cold front looks to pass our area Friday morning, leaving us with some lingering showers and thunderstorms for the remainder of the morning. It looks as though this stormy pattern will continue into the weekend, as well. Another not-so-great thing is that we will be much muggier than we have been the last few days.

Dewpoints look to reach into the 60’s, maybe even 70’s…gross.
The good news, though, is the cloud cover will keep us slightly cooler . Highs will be in the upper 80’s, and lows will be in the upper 60’s under partly cloudy skies.
Saturday looks a whole lot like Friday. Temperatures don’t seem to be that much different, as highs will be in the mid to upper 80’s across the state. As that cold front moves out of our region, we will be left with a lot of moisture in the upper-levels of the atmosphere. This will allow us to see some scattered chances for thunderstorm activity. The timing and intensity of these storms is still being processed, as the weather models are not agreeing on when these storms will actually take place. So, make sure to stay updated with the blog for the latest information.
For Saturday night, lows will be in the mid to upper 60’s across the region.
Extended Outlook
The extended outlook is filled with rain and storms. The weather models are hinting at more impulses moving through the area, causing us to have some thunderstorm activity. Right now, it is too early to determine the extent of these storms, but it does look like we will have a wet and stormy weekend. This storminess could extend into early next week, but, again, only time will tell!
Have a great rest of the day, y’all!
