Yesterday’s Weather

Well, I didn’t do very well on yesterday’s forecast. Highs ended up in the lower 90s across the region, on both the Mesonet and at the airport.

Discussion

Like I said yesterday, this forecast period has been looking awesome for several days.

However, Friday and into the weekend…eh. Hahaha. Lets dive into it. Today looks incredible. Just absolutely incredible. Most of you will be waking up to some great feeling weather out your door, as the cold front has officially pushed through the region. Temps will be in the 60s as you head to work, but will rise into the lower 80s as we head into the afternoon. Additionally, dewpoints will have officially dropped, making today even better.

Skies will stay mostly sunny, and the lack of clouds will remain into the overnight hours, with lows falling into the lower 60s. Tomorrow looks just as nice, with temperatures being just a tad warmer across the region.

Winds will be fairly weak across the region, but will gradually shift southward across the region during the day on Thursday. This will lead to highs ending up in the mid 80s, with partly cloudy skies increasing throughout the day. Dewpoints will also increase slightly during the day, but it will still be better than what it has been.

Overnight Thursday, a shortwave trough will propagate southeastward towards us throughout the night, increasing clouds and precip chances by the late morning hours.

Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.

Friday is really the day that we lose this amazing weather streak.

That is kinda sad, but it is something we gotta deal with. Storms are looking likely on Friday, especially during the morning hours as a front approaches us in associated with that shortwave.

The cloud cover associated with this will keep us much cooler than we would be otherwise, but this storm threat on Friday is something that will likely continue into the weekend. Highs on Friday look to be in the mid 80s, and skies will be partly to mostly cloudy.

Overnight, look for skies to remain partly cloudy, with lows in the mid to upper 60s.

Extended Outlook

The extended outlook is looking stormy. Fairly stormy, actually. The weather as we move into the weekend is looking continuously active, and it looks as if it is gonna be a close call for the Fourth of July.

Within northwesterly to westerly flow, several shortwaves look to rotate through the region during the weekend, sparking off several rounds of thunderstorms. It is too early to pinpoint severe weather threats, but there will be plentiful moisture across the region, so it is something to watch for.

Well, that is all I have for ya! Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG over the next few days to get updates on the Fourth of July holiday, and the weather we’ll likely see. Have a good one!
