An upper level low is moving through Ohio, dragging its accompanying trough through our region this afternoon and tonight. Due to the position of this upper level low, our winds are coming out of the west today, causing us to see a quite a big warmup in temperatures. Highs will be in the mid 90’s, with the heat index (“feels like” temperature) near 100°.

The SPC has our area in a marginal risk for severe weather today. The overall risk for severe weather is lower than yesterday, and I believe our area will see much less storm activity than yesterday. However, the atmosphere still looks to have enough moisture and overall instability to support thunderstorm activity. If we were to see some storm activity today, it would be much more isolated than yesterday’s events.

Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with lows in the upper 60’s.

Friday. What a day it’s gonna be!

Since that cold front moved through, we are going to experience some welcomed moderate temperatures. Highs for Friday will be in the mid to upper 80’s with overnight lows in the mid 60’s. Upper level ridging to our west will keep us dry for the next several days, so that’s good!

Saturday looks to be very similar to Friday with highs in the upper 80’s under sunny skies. Overnight lows look to drop a few degrees into the mid 60’s under mostly clear skies.

Extended Outlook

The extended outlook seems as little bit boring compared to this past week. Whew, I could use a little boring right now! The aforementioned upper level ridge looks to flatten quite a bit and turn to a more zonal upper level pattern. This will allow us to stay dry with very moderate temperatures. Overall, boring!

That’s it for me! Talk to y’all later!
