Yesterday’s Weather

What more can I say? How many ways can I say it was hot outside? Hahaha, I mean, I am running out of adjectives. It was hot. The official high for BG was 92ºF, one degree off of my forecast from Saturday morning.

I found some new adjectives to describe the weather. “Sizzling”, “sweltering”, or “ovenlike”. Thanks to Thesaurus.com for the help!

Discussion

Well, I know I have already gone full-gif post on you once recently, but I am gonna do it again. Get ready to rumble!

The expectation over the next few days is for the ridge across the central portion of the US to deamplify as various shortwaves work their way into the central and northern portions of the US. This doesn’t mean it won’t be hot, we will just be positioned in a pattern more easily able to produce thunderstorms.

The model guidance is supporting this as well. For today, the same boundary that was to our northeast and moving southwestward through the region will be present across the region again!

This will give us a shot at storms as the atmosphere looks very moist and unstable. Look for highs in the low to mid 90s.

Overnight, it will basically be the same for the next three days. Look for skies to remain partly cloudy, with lows falling to the low to mid 70s. For your day on Tuesday, we will be looking at much of the same.

The front will still be slowly working its way northeastward, and this will give us a good shot at storms across the region Tuesday. This is in conjunction with a weak trough of low pressure in the mid levels of the atmosphere, and both of these will act to give us relatively interesting weather.

We can all cheer to that! Highs on Tuesday look to be in the low to mid 90s across the region. Overnight, look for partly cloudy skies and lows in the low to mid 70s.

Wednesday looks…the same again. Wednesday looks warm and toasty, and with scattered storms across the region. The front is looking to be draped across the region at least until Wednesday, and that will be the focal point for storms. Some of the storms have a chance to be strong or severe, and the SPC has highlighted the region for that.

Highs will be in the mid 90s again. Overnight, look for more of the same, with lows in the 70s under partly cloudy skies.

Extended Outlook

I’ll keep this quick, but for June standards, the models are showing a fairly active pattern to be honest with you.

June doesn’t typically stay active, as the jet stream retreats northward, but this year, it has remained active. The weather may be boring now, but if the ridge and current pattern break down to an extent, the weather will get interesting real quick.

Well, that is all I have for ya! Have a great day, and be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG on Twitter for the latest on Bowling Green Weather!
