Real-time Bowling Green radar:
Today 3/18 – Sunny – High 68/Tonight – Partly cloudy; chance of showers – Low 41
Good Morning, Bowling Green! Today is going to be absolutely gorgeous as zonal flow in the upper levels and surface high pressure keep temperatures warm with highs in the upper 60s. With plenty of sunshine to go with it, you couldn’t ask for a better day!
An upper-level trough is making its way eastward today and will increase cloud cover this afternoon into tonight. This system will bring us some scattered rain showers and cooler temperatures for the weekend. The gorgeous weather from this week will make the weather this weekend seem kind of terrible.
Saturday 3/19 – Cloudy with chance of scat’d showers – High 50/ Saturday Night – Mostly cloudy – Low 34
Scattered showers in association with the approaching system are possible Saturday and temperatures will begin to drop as this trough digs deeper and moves east. This will allow northerly winds to filter cooler air into the area giving us highs around 50◦. The scattered showers should move out by midday, but a more developed band of precipitation looks to move in Saturday afternoon.
Temperatures will drop into the low 30s Saturday night making it possible for a wintry mix of precip, but it won’t cause any serious impacts. Even cooler weather is in store for Sunday as the upper-level trough continues to dig deeper.
Sunday 3/20 – Cloudy with scat’d showers – High 46/Sunday Night – Partly cloudy – Low 32
Sunday will be much cooler with highs in the upper 40s and more chances for scattered showers as the system continues to move eastward. Temperatures will get pretty chilly Sunday night with the possibility of being near-freezing. Good news is once this system moves out, clouds will start to decrease and temperatures will get a little warmer as upper-level ridging and high pressure begin to move into the area!
Have a great weekend and continue to follow @WxOrNotBG for more updates!
