Wednesday Bowling Green Weather Update

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Wednesday, 2/3- Mostly Sunny – High 54˚ / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy – Low 29˚

Good morning, Bowling Green! After the warm, wet, and windy weather that we received yesterday, cooler and drier conditions are in store for our forecast period.

Today may seem kind of backwards in regards to temperatures. Due to the passage of the cold front, we will hit our high for the day early in the morning, before the winds shift northwesterly. Temperatures will then stick around the low-50s for midday before dropping once again in the late afternoon.

With high pressure following in behind the passage of the front, mostly sunny skies will make for a pleasant Wednesday. It will still be a little breezy out there due to the gradients in temperature and pressure associated with the front, but these winds will die down as we move into the overnight hours.

Lows tonight will drop below freezing under mostly cloudy skies. Just think – yesterday, we had record temperatures in the 70s; today, temperatures are back below freezing for our low. No wonder my allergies are going nuts.

Thursday, 2/4 – Sunny – High 42˚ / Thursday Night – Partly Clear – Low 27˚

As high pressure continues to build in to the region and cold air filters in, temperatures will drop for our daily highs and lows on Thursday. This will cause Thursday to be the coolest day of the forecast period, with highs not making it out of the low-40s.

To re-emphasize… This is 30 or so degrees different than our high just two days prior. Guess that’s why Tuesday’s temperatures broke a record for Bowling Green!

Even with the cooler temperatures, high pressure will keep skies clear and sunny – making the 40s feel a bit more pleasant on a nice February day!

Temperatures will cool back into the mid to upper-20s overnight.

Friday, 2/5 – Sunny – High 48˚ / Friday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 30˚

To finish up the workweek, temperatures will begin a climb back to the “normal” high for this time of year in the upper-40s. With the high pressure system continuing to track eastward, winds will shift to the south at the surface while a slight ridge in the upper-levels moves into our region.

Overall, a nice forecast for the short-term period! Enjoy it while it lasts because believe it or not – winter is not over yet!
