Warm & Sunny Today; Cooler Weather On The Way!

Real-time Bowling Green Weather radar:

Today 10/8 – Sunny & Warm – High 82/Tonight – Partly cloudy – Low 60

Good morning, Bowling Green! This week has been a little toasty with temperatures getting up into the mid-80s. Normal temperatures for this time of year are usually in the 70s, but ridging in the upper levels has kept the cooler air up north. That will change in time for the weekend as a cold front passes through tomorrow evening.

As for today, it will be another warm, sunny day with temperatures warming up to just over 80 degrees. Tonight lows will be around 60 degrees and clouds will begin to increase as the front moves closer. Get excited – tomorrow brings cooler weather!

Friday 10/9 – Cloudy; scat’d showers – High 80/Friday Night – Cloudy; scat’d showers – Low 53

Surface analysis valid Friday 4pm (NOAA)

As the cold front makes its way into Kentucky on Friday, clouds will increase and so will our rain chances. Latest model output suggests the cold front will arrive in the afternoon hours and simulated radar shows chances of scattered showers all throughout the evening. Keep in mind that the front could move faster than what the models are predicting, so keep an umbrella handy throughout the day.

After the front passes, temperatures will begin dropping and feel more like fall. (Thank goodness!) Saturday night will be cool with chances for scattered showers diminishing throughout the night.

Saturday 10/10 – Sunny & Nice! – High 68/Saturday Night – Mostly clear – Low 42

Saturday will be the epitome of fall with highs only making it to the upper 60s. Expect plenty of sunshine and a little bit of chill in the air from northerly winds. The weather will feel perfect for those attending the WKU home game against MTSU, but you might want to dress warm if you plan on tailgating before the 11AM kick-off.

Surface temperatures valid Saturday 4pm (owxdata)

Saturday night will be a chilly one with lows dropping to around 42 degrees. As high pressure moves in behind the cold front, temperatures will warm up to the mid-70s for the rest of the weekend and will hopefully stay in the 70s for next week.
