Pleasant Bowling Green Weather Continunes

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 10/7 – Mostly Sunny – High 83˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 58˚

Good Wednesday morning, Bowling Green! WKU students sure have received a warm welcome back to campus this week after fall break, as temperatures have been around 10° warmer than the climate normals! Yesterday, the Bowling Green airport hit a high temperature of 85°; our normal high for this time of year is 75°.

These above-normal temperatures, mostly sunny skies, and dry conditions will stick around for today due to high pressure at the surface and ridging aloft. While this weather is arguably much better than what we received at the tail end of last week, fall-lovers will have to wait a little while longer to wear their favorite sweaters and boots.

Tonight, temperatures will remain in the upper-50s (our lows are even about 10° above normal!) under partly cloudy skies and calm winds.

Thursday, 10/8 – Partly Sunny – High 85˚ / Thursday Night – Mostly Cloudy – Low 61˚

Thursday will most likely be the warmest day of the week as surface winds shift to the southwest due to an approaching low pressure system. Even with an increase in cloud cover ahead of this system, temperatures could reach the mid-80s by the afternoon.

Thursday will be the last taste of 80° weather for the week, but the 80s are still not out of the picture. A return to unseasonably warm temperatures looks likely next week. Still too warm for pumpkin spiced lattes…

Cloud cover will keep temperatures mild Thursday night, with lows in the low-60s.

Friday 10/9 – Rain Likely – High 77˚ / Friday Night – Partly Cloudy and Cool – Low 52˚

The cold front we’ve all been waiting for will finally approach our area Friday, bringing showers and possibly a few storms. Rain chances will begin late morning and will move west to east, ending by the evening hours on Friday.
