This Is Your Weather Week In Review

Here at WxOrNotBG, we have begun to implement a new post every Sunday evening previewing the week ahead. In light of that, I am going to begin posting a review of the previous week each Saturday night, highlighting the major events that occurred, etc. So, with that being said, here is your *cue awesome music* WxOrNotBG Week in review for September 21st through September 27th.

Well, last week was a lot more interesting than what we have been seeing recently, which is a major plus!

The only thing that kinda sucks is that the weather came with rain, and clouds and the associated things with that. That kinda wasn’t fun.

But before that, we were seeing pretty dag on nice conditions! Recently, as you can see in my previous editions of this post, we have been seeing some of the most boring conditions that have ever existed anywhere on Earth. I feel like all we have seen is just this recently.

We had many counties across the state enter into a “Moderate Drought” stage last week, but the latter portion of the week helped that. A tropically influenced, upper level trough moved into the southeastern US and threw a lot of moisture towards its north and northwest.

By Friday evening, this was creating many issues for high school games, but overall, the rain was a welcomed sight for lawns across the region. It was a light-heavy rain, the kind that you associate with fall. It kept temps cooler on Friday, and also into Saturday.

And with the rainfall on Friday, we finally escaped the bland weather blues.

Nationwide, nothing significant really happened, as it was fairly bland across the country. However, there was an EF-2 tornado that occurred on Thursday night in South Carolina, and it caused pretty significant damage across the area.

In the Tropical realm, it was a weird week. We had the week tropical low affect the southeast, and then Tropical Storm Ida formed and meandered all over the place before finally being killed off by shear.

So, last week may have been non-boring, but will this one be? Who knows….
