Good Ole Hot Bowling Green Weather

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 7/27 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 93° / Tonight – Isolated Thunderstorms – Low 75°

Isolated thunderstorms have formed to the north and west of Bowling Green this morning. These will eventually die out as they move to the south towards Bowling Green. However, they may last just long enough to get Bowling Green a little wet. Other than that, partly cloudy skies should return to us in the afternoon hours after the isolated showers depart the region.

The break in the showers and storms will lead to increasing temperatures across the region. After a high temperature yesterday of 91°, you can expect highs to be a couple degrees higher than that today thanks to some weak southerly flow at the surface. Pop-up showers and thunderstorms will again be possible this afternoon and evening.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue into the overnight hours. Lows will be around 75°.

Tuesday 7/28 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 93° / Tue Night – Isolated Thunderstorms – Low 77°

You could basically take the forecast for Monday and reinsert it for Tuesday, and you would likely be pretty close. We’ve entered the sort of benign weather days of Summer when the forecasts from day to day don’t vary all that much. Isolated thunderstorms may be possible during the morning, with a break near midday. Temperatures will increase to an afternoon high around 93°, after which a few isolated thunderstorms will be possible.

Isolated thunderstorms could continue into the overnight with a low around 77°.

Wednesday 7/29 – Isolated Thunderstorms; Hot – High 95° / Wed Night – Scattered Thunderstorms – Low 76°

Wednesday’s forecast will remain very much close to the rest of the forecast period, but with some differences. Isolated thunderstorms may still be possible in the early morning hours, with the break expected in the midday hours. Highs will be a few degrees warmer than before, as highs reach more toward the mid 90s. Combining humidity, this will make it feel more like it is 105°, so be careful to stay cool out there.

A shortwave trough to the north of the region may help to kick off additional thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Given that these storms will have a bit more synoptic forcing, they may be a bit more scattered in nature, and also a bit stronger from time to time. I’m not too concerned with severe weather just yet, but be sure to check back for more updates later. Lows will be in the mid 70s.

That should wrap up this forecast. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG for the latest Bowling Green weather information. Have a great day!
