Pleasant Bowling Green Weather Continues

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 5/1 – Sunny & Pleasant – High 68˚ / Tonight – Mostly Clear – Low 48˚

Good Friday morning, Bowling Green, and congratulations for making it through yet another workweek! For those of us on the Hill, only two weeks separate us from summer. The weather, however, has been very spring-like lately, with temperatures – while pleasant – below normal for this time of year.

With the exception of the clouds and trace of precipitation we received yesterday, the next few days will be similar to what we have been experiencing this week. High pressure is basically our best friend. April showers bring May flowers, right? The beginning of our May is definitely looking bright.

High pressure to our northwest will keep our area dry today, with temperatures in the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies. Sounds like a beautiful way to end out the week! The weather has definitely been spoiling us, and it’s not going to end anytime soon. Tonight, lows will drop into the upper-40s with some cooler air off to our east. Skies will be mostly clear, with winds becoming calm.

Saturday, 5/2 – Partly Cloudy & Warmer – High 75˚ / Saturday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 52˚

Nice weather will continue into Saturday for “The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” – The Kentucky Derby. Whether you’re heading to the Derby or staying home and grilling out, tomorrow looks like a perfect day to spend outside.

Of course, what day this week hasn’t been perfect? The difference in weather conditions tomorrow will come as high pressure continues to sink until it is south of our area. The high’s position relative to us will bring southwesterly flow, and thus warmer temperatures to our area.

Temperatures will begin to look more normal for this time of year, as highs reach the mid-70s tomorrow. Lows will remain in the low to mid-50s Saturday night.

Sunday, 5/3 – Mostly Sunny; Warm – High 79˚ / Sunday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 58˚

I may sound like a broken record player, but I guess it’s not necessarily a bad thing! Dry weather is expected Sunday, as temperatures begin to gradually climb. Ridging in the upper-atmosphere will work to bring us warmer temperatures for the end of the weekend and into the beginning of the workweek. Below is a forecast temperature map for Monday:

Temperatures are expected to hit the upper-70s Sunday, thanks to southerly flow, with 80s in store for the week. For those of us who have been struggling with what to wear on a daily basis (cool in the morning, warm in the afternoon sun), next week will definitely be shorts weather. Get pumped. Low temperatures will be quite mild as we move into next week, with temperatures remaining in the upper-50s overnight.
