The American Astronautical Society and the American Meteorological Society, in conjunction with Northrop Grumman, are hosting a Google hangout entitled “Women in Weather”. This hangout is taking place tomorrow, March 25th, at 12:00 pm ET. The Google hangout will feature female Meteorologists all across the field discussing both issues and opportunities in the workforce.

As emphasized on the event’s website,
According to the National Science Foundation, out of the 14,000 professionals employed in atmospheric sciences, only 2,000 are women.
That’s only 14 percent.
