Tornado Hits Los Angeles

Yesterday morning, a tornado hit Los Angeles for the first time in ten years. The tornado was an EF-0, which is the weakest classification on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. The tornado touched down 5 miles south of downtown LA at around 9:20 AM Friday morning.

This twister was a product of the strong storm that has been dropping torrential rain and damaging winds to the West Coast, and has caused mudslides, floods, and power outages across the region. According to officials, the LA twister tracked through a neighborhood, ripping off an apartment roof and damaging five homes. This tornado was the first to hit LA County in 7 years, and the first to hit the city of Los Angeles in 10 years (Capital Weather Gang).
