Nice Stretch For Bowling Green Weather

Real-Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

This Afternoon – Mostly Sunny; Pleasant – High 65º / Tonight – Partly Cloudy; Chilly Low 42º

3pm 65º – 6pm 61º – 9pm 55º – 12am 49º – 3am 45º – 6am 42º

Despite the cold start to our Thursday, temperatures have rebounded quite nicely across southern Kentucky. Highs have soared into the lower-middle 60’s this afternoon with a light breeze from the northeast. Weak riding aloft and surface high pressure will give way this evening as a shortwave trough works across the Ohio Valley Region.

This moisture starved disturbance will have little to work with in an already dry environment. Expect an increase in cloud cover this evening and tonight as partly cloudy skies prevail. Overnight lows will be chilly as temperatures drop into the lower 40’s.  No rainfall is expected.

Don’t forget about this evening’s Partial Solar Eclipse across southern Kentucky. The partial eclipse will begin at 4:50pm with the maximum viewing time at 5:52pm. Be sure to wear protective eyewear and not to look directly at the sun! Here’s a nice illustration below for what to expect (eclipse-wise) this evening.

Fri – Mostly Sunny; Nice – High 69º / Fri Night – Mostly Clear; Cool – Low 49º

Friday arrives in style, once again. Beautiful weather conditions can be expected as mostly sunny skies dominate the region. We can send our thanks to the surface high pressure that will build across the Ohio Valley bringing the continued stretch of great Fall weather. Afternoon temperatures will be a tad warmer as highs reach the upper 60’s Friday afternoon.

Clear skies stick around through the overnight period as thermometer readings bottom out in the upper 40’s. If you have any plans Friday evening/night, a light jacket will definitely help fight the Fall chill. Otherwise, look for a calm night and an absolute gorgeous start to the weekend.

We’ll see another chilly start to our Sunday as nearly identical weather can be anticipated. Plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the lower 70’s will continue as we look to wrap up the weekend!
