Monday Bowling Green Weather Update

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 8/4 – Partly Cloudy – High 90° / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 62°

Good Monday morning, if there is such a thing. We are currently under some pretty weak upper level winds, which is allowing for temperatures to warm up a bit, despite our location in a trough. Winds will be out of the east for most of the day around 5 mph. You can expect partly cloudy conditions, with a high right around 90°. Seriously though, let’s just not do Monday.

Tonight will bring more great weather to the region. We’ll see a few clouds from time to time across Bowling Green. Winds should calm throughout the evening, bringing us to a low around 62°.

Tuesday 8/5 – Partly Cloudy – High 91° / Tue Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 66°

On Tuesday we still have very little occurring in the weather department across the eastern United States. With meager upper level support, I see no chance of rain on Tuesday. Essentially, Tuesday is a rinse and repeat forecast from Monday. Thus, you can expect winds out of the west around 5 mph, partly cloudy skies, and a high around 91°.

The rinse and repeat forecast will continue on Tuesday night. There’s just not much happening in Bowling Green weather. Calm winds, partly cloudy skies, and lows around 66° will dominate the weather story.

Wednesday 8/6 – Scattered Thunderstorms – High 92° / Wed Night – Isolated Thunderstorms – Low 68°

On Wednesday we’ll finally see some active weather return to the region. This is a good thing because we certainly need the rain. A cold front will approach the region from the north over the course of Wednesday. There will also be a piece of some nice upper level winds moving south along the persistent trough in place. Thunderstorms will likely develop as of the result of these two forcing mechanisms.

While severe weather is not anticipated, a few strong storms can’t be ruled out. Gusty winds, small hail, and vivid lightning will all be possible in any storms that do form. Otherwise, expect highs around 92°.

On Wednesday night, the front will continue to work  into the region. Thunderstorms will diminish in both intensity and coverage. However, the front will not make it’s full passage until Thursday. This will be the start of a rainy pattern across the region, which is good. Lows will be around 68°.
