Friday Morning Update

Bowling Green Weather – Real-time Radar:

Today 8/1– Partly Sunny / Iso’d T-storms– High 87° // Tonight – Partly Cloudy / Iso’d Showers– Low 63°

6am 61º – 9am 74º – 12pm 83º – 3pm 87º – 6pm 85º

Good Friday morning everybody! First day of August looks to be great weather wise. We have an area of high pressure that is continuing to move east and weaken over time, with that, expect temperatures to be a bit warmer than yesterday, highs in the upper 80s, with partly sunny skies. Here’s the surface map for 7am this morning:

This afternoon and evening may bring a stray shower or thunderstorm as we have some subtle upper level support moving through the longwave upper air pattern. These, however, should be fairly isolated and not contain any severe weather threats as our dewpoints and instability remain limited. Expect lows over night in the low 60s with patchy fog possible.

Saturday 8/2– Partly Sunny / Iso’d T-storms– High 86° // Saturday Night – Partly Cloudy / Iso’d Showers– Low 63°

The start of the weekend looks like a repeat of Friday’s weather; similar temperature profiles and sky cover will be likely with a slightly higher chance of precipitation as a weak mid and upper level are of energy moves through the trough which is positioned over the entire eastern side of the country. Although isolated showers and storms are possible, no severe weather is expected with highs in the mid and upper 80s. Thus, if the weather looks clear, get out and enjoy it!

Saturday evening should be relatively calm with northeasterly winds helping to drive overnight lows into the low 60s once again, with patchy fog possible. Any lingering precipitation overnight should diminish in coverage.

Sunday 8/3– Mostly Sunny / Iso’d T-storms– High 84° // Sunday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 63°

Sunday will be another similar day weather-wise, isolated threat of a storm or a shower possible, partly sunny with highs in the mid 80s. Northeasterly winds are expected to continue which will help in maintaining lower dewpoint values and keep the atmosphere mostly stable. Good looking weather if you ask me.

Sunday night looks calm with partly cloudy skies and overnight lows in the low 60s, again, with patchy fog possible near dusk.

Overall, the weather the next few days will remain fairly behaved as we are still positioned within a large trough axis, as seen above, which will help to keep our weather relatively, well, boring. This is a good thing though, except some rainfall would be beneficial to our area. We’ll see what happens.

That does it for now, folks. Be sure to stay up to date with all your real time Bowling Green weather info @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter. Have a great Friday!
