While no severe weather is anticipated today, some storms could be on the strong side as heavy rainfall, damaging winds (possible with stronger storms) and dangerous lightning will be possible. The latest SPC forecast shows an enhanced probability (40%) for thunderstorm development across southern Kentucky and this does include Bowling Green.

The cold front is expected to pass through the region late tonight, early Thursday morning. Storm activity will come to an end from north to south as partly cloudy skies stick around. Lows will dip into the upper 60’s.

Thu – Partly Sunny; Pleasant – High 81º / Thu Night – Partly Cloudy; Cooler – Low 61º

Ahhh….now we’re talking. That’s right. Refreshingly cooler and drier air will settle in across southern Kentucky as Canadian high pressure situates itself over the Great Lakes Region. We’ll have to deal with those pesky clouds for much of Thursday but temperature wise will be great. Highs will struggle to reach the lower 80’s as another unseasonable cool down grips the region.

We call this the “two thumbs up forecast.”

Cha-Ching.

Partly cloudy skies will eventually give way late Thursday night and into Friday. Winds will calm during this time as those overnight temperatures really cool down. Lows will drop into the lower 60’s for Bowling Green giving a nice coolness to the air.

Fri – Partly Sunny; Pleasant – High 85º / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy; Cool – Low 69º

The aforementioned high pressure will continue to dominate our forecast Friday but will also shift eastward. Southerly winds will increase throughout the day as temperatures begin to warm back up. Hold on, turn that frown upside down….Friday will still turn out to be a great day and relatively comfortable one as muggy conditions hold off. Highs will be a tad warmer as temperatures reach the mid 80’s. There we go, I see you smiling now.

How about that… Bay-ba?! (in my best Elvis voice)

Conditions will remain calm into Friday night with overnight lows in the upper 60’s. The break looks to be short-lived as another front moves closer to the state by early Saturday. The latest guidance hints toward isolated storms Saturday afternoon with a better chance arriving Sunday.
