Pleasant Weather Ahead

Real Time Regional Radar:

This Afternoon – Partly Sunny, Pleasant – High 87º / Tonight – Partly Cloudy, Cooler – Low 64º

3pm 87º – 6pm 85º – 9pm 74º – 12am 69º – 3am 66º – 6am 64º

The cold front that brought scattered showers and storms to the Commonwealth will continue its plunge southward across the Volunteer State.  A secondary cold front will work through the region today as drier air continues to filter in from our northwest. Surface high pressure will work eastward across the Great Lakes Region as slightly cooler, less humid conditions take over.

A good mix of sun and clouds will hang tough for the remainder of this afternoon and evening. Partly cloudy skies will begin to mix out late tonight/early tomorrow morning as mostly sunny skies win out. Overnight lows will be cooler and comfortable as temperatures dip into the low-mid 60’s. Excuse me while I celebrate.

WPC Forecast Surface Map. Valid For Thursday 7pm.

The evening hours will feature comfortable conditions and perhaps a great time to catch up on some of that forever ending yard work. Mostly clear skies and calming winds will set the stage for another cool night as temperatures drop into the low-mid 60’s.

Fri – Mostly Sunny; Warmer – High 89º / Fri Night – Mostly Cloudy; Mild – Low 69º

The aforementioned high pressure will weaken Friday and push eastward as winds begin to shift. Warmer and muggy conditions will make their way back into the forecast Friday before the summer pattern we’re more accustomed to arrive by the weekend. Despite the warmth Friday, conditions will remain dry as clouds build in across the region. Mostly cloudy skies are expected Friday night with lows in the upper 60’s.

A couple weaker upper level disturbances will work across the Ohio Valley bringing isolated shower and storm chances back into the forecast for Saturday and Sunday. Hot and muggy conditions look to settle in as well with highs in the lower 90’s. I know, I know…rain chances and the weekend just don’t go together.
