Friday Morning Update

Real-time Radar:

Today – 7/4  Mostly Sunny – High 81º / Tonight – Clear & Calm – Low 57º

6am 59º – 9am 68º – 12pm 76º – 3pm 81º – 6pm 77º

Independence Day weather is looking like something from a dream really. We have a trough axis that is swinging through the area and passing to our east with time. Descending air from high pressure to our northwest is keeping skies clear and calm with cooler temperatures and lower moisture values to boot.

The weather will be awesome all day long with temperatures climbing to around 80 for our area. This evening and tonight look great also; clear skies and temperatures falling into the upper 50s overnight. Here’s a surface map for 1pm today:

Take full advantage of the weather and get outside and enjoy it. Fireworks!!!

Saturday – 7/5  Mostly Sunny – High 85º / Saturday Night – Clear & Calm – Low 60º

Our Independence Day weekend will kick off with weather just as good as it was on Friday, just a bit warmer. High pressure will continue to move east and northwest winds will shift more easterly. Clear skies and plenty of sunshine will allow temperatures to climb into the mid 80s.

Overnight hours will likely see clear skies once again, and temperatures falling to near 60 degrees. Sounds good to me.

Sunday – 7/6  Mostly Sunny – High 90º / Sunday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 64º

By Sunday evening, high pressure will have moved off the east coast and it’s dominating performance on Friday and Saturday will move out of the area. The weather will still be relatively quiet, but the return of southerly winds will allow for temperatures to reach 90 degrees once again.

Moisture values will begin to rebound as well but not into the lower 70 dewpoint range as we saw days ago.  Here’s a look at NAM suggested temperatures, wind, and pressure for Sunday at 4pm, big time heat building out west:

Rain chances will likely hold off until Monday as higher moisture values return to our area to kick off the start of the next work week. Regardless, the weather for the 4th and for the weekend are looking great. Get outside if you can and enjoy!
