Another Hot & Humid Day

Real Time Regional Radar:

———————————————————————————-

This Afternoon – Partly Cloudy; Hot – High 92º / Tonight – Partly Cloudy; Mild – Low 70º

3pm 92º – 6pm 89º – 9pm 82º – 12am 76º – 3am 72º – 6am 70º

The hot and humid conditions hang around for another day as no real relief from the heat looks possible over the next several days. The upper level ridge will continue to dominate our weather for the time being keeping us mostly dry and very warm.

By mid-late afternoon, temperatures will reach the lower 90’s in Bowling Green with dewpoint temperatures in the upper 60’s. Throw all that together and you have one humid, summer-like day across the area.

Much like yesterday, look for a good deal of cloud cover throughout our Wednesday as we’ll keep the chance for a stray pop-up shower or storm. I think most activity will lie along and east of the I-65 corridor as any development will remain widely scattered. The diurnally driven storms will diminish this evening and tonight as partly cloudy skies remain with warm overnight lowss. ONe thing is for sure, it’s definitely a pool day and it really doesn’t matter how you get in.

There has to be a better way than this, right?!

Thu – Partly Sunny; Sct’d Storms – High 92º / Thu Night – Partly Cloudy; Iso’d Storms – Low 71º

The aforementioned high pressure will begin to weaken slightly allowing a couple shortwaves to work through the region. These will provide a slightly better chance for scattered shower and storm development Thursday morning and then once again in the afternoon/evening hours. Check out the NAM Simulated reflectivity for a better idea of what to expect.

While no severe organized weather is expected, some storms may contain gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall. Activity will diminish late Thursday with overnight lows for Bowling Green dropping into the lower 70’s under partly cloudy skies.

Fri – Mostly Sunny; Iso’d Storms – High 91º / Fri Night – Mostly Cloudy; Iso’d Storms – Low 70º

The ridge that was responsible for the heat and humidity will continue to weaken by late week as a cold front will slowly sag southward across the Commonwealth. This front will be very weak in nature as no potent severe weather looks possible. However, this boundary will provide a focal point for shower and storm development for Friday and much of the weekend.

Yes…I said rain & storm chances for the weekend.

With that said, look for this front to provide some additional lift across the area Friday as a few isolated storms will be possible. Chances ramp up for Saturday and Sunday as weaker disturbances ride through this flow. While a wash out for the weekend isn’t expected, scattered showers and storms could put a damper on any outdoor activities you might have planned.

Like the past several days, temperatures will remain warm through our Friday with highs back into the lower 90’s. We cool just a tad bit here in Bowling Green as temperatures drop into the upper 80’s by the weekend.

That does it for now, folks. Be sure to stay up to date with all your real time weather info @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on twitter. Stay cool out there!
