Heat No Longer in Miami, It’s Here

Real Time Regional Radar:

—————————————————————————————

Today 6/17 – Partly Cloudy – High 90° / Tonight – Clearing – Low 69°

The ridge to the east will strengthen over the region today, which will introduce more dry air into the region. Thus, we’ll expect a dry forecast across the region. We will still be dealing with a persistent trough over the western United States, placing us in a southwesterly flow. With the southwesterly flow, we’ll continue to see the warm temperatures and humidity values will be on the increase as well. High pressure will dominate the area.

Overall, you can expect highs to be around 90° once again across the region today. Partly cloudy skies in the afternoon will clear in the evening and overnight hours. Low temperatures will drop back into the upper 60s across the region. Some more urban places may remain in the 70s.

Wednesday 6/18 – Partly Cloudy – High 91° / Wed Night – Clearing – Low 72°

On Wednesday, the forecast will remain much the same as on Tuesday. However, there will be some minor changes in the overnight hours. We’ll still see a broad area of ridging located just to the east, with troughing to the west of the region. Thus, our conveyor belt of southwesterly winds will continue to bring warm, humid conditions to the region. Those working outside need to make sure they are properly hydrated.

Good day to go to the beach in my opinion.

Expects highs to be in the low 90s across the region. Afternoon partly cloudy skies should give way to clearing skies in the evening and overnight hours. There are some signs that some mid level flow could strengthen Wednesday night, which would pump even more warm, moist air into the region. Thus, we’ll go with a low of 72°.

Thursday – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 90° / Thursday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 72°

On Thursday, we’ll have been placed in a warm moist environment for a considerable amount of time. Thus, conditions are becoming better for thunderstorm development in the afternoon hours. This will be highly dependent on whether storms can break the cap or not. I might be going on a leap of faith here, but I expect isolated showers and thunderstorms to be possible.

Highs will be around 90° once again. We should see a general decrease in thunderstorms across the region as we lose some of the Sun’s energy to work with. Overnight conditions will remain pretty pleasant with partly cloudy skies and lows in the upper 70s across the region.
