A Break In Store

Real Time Regional Radar:

————————————————————————————————————

This Afternoon – Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d Showers/Storms – High 79º / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Stray Shower – Low 66º

3pm 79º – 6pm 76º – 9pm 72º – 12am 68º – 3am 67º – 6am 66º

Mostly cloudy conditions have ruled out for our Wednesday as the dreary weather pattern continues. Despite the cloud cover and the rain we’ve had, the break from the warm and muggy temperatures have been nice.

This afternoon will feature mostly cloudy skies with an occasional break in the cloud for a few rays of sunshine. Scattered showers and storms throughout our afternoon will be possible as the upper level trough tracks northeast. While  no severe weather is anticipated with any development this afternoon,  brief heavy rain and gusty conditions will be primary threat with any activity.

Outside of an isolated shower or two late this afternoon/early evening, look for calmer conditions tonight. Lows will remain mild as temperatures drop into the mid 60’s under mostly cloudy skies.

I know the feeling…

Calmer conditions are coming.

Thu – Partly Sunny; Pleasant – High 82º / Thu Night – Mostly Cloudy; Stray Shower – Low 66º

The aforementioned trough will continue its trek eastward across the state by Thursday. In return, folks across far eastern portions the state will see the best chances for scattered showers. The further west your reside, the less chance for seeing any activity as mostly dry conditions should prevail for Bowling Green.

By Thursday night, our next rain maker will work eastward into the Ozarks as the associated cold front slides into parts of Missouri and Arkansas. I think most of the Bowling Green will remain dry into the evening and overnight hours as a few counties across far western Kentucky could see a few showers. With that said, we’ll keep a slight chance for a stray shower in the forecast.

Fri – Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d Showers  – High 79º / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy, Cooler – Low 63º

As mentioned previously, another weaker disturbance will work through the area late Thursday night/early Friday morning. A cold front will work southeastward across the region Friday as this moisture starved front will have little to work with. However, scattered showers will remain possible throughout the morning hours before the front works eastward by early afternoon.

High pressure of Canadian origin will work southeastward in behind this front just in time to wrap up the work week. Drier air will filter in across southern Kentucky by Friday evening as the first part of the weekend shapes up to be a nice one.

Mostly sunny skies will kick off our Saturday with comfortable highs in the lower 80’s. Drier, less humid conditions will make this a prime day to get out and enjoy if you can. Things begin to warm back up by Sunday and into next week as highs will range into the mid-upper 80’s.

That does it for now, folks. Be sure to stay up to date with all your real time weather info @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on twitter. Wishing everyone a great evening! Friday is almost here!
