More Storms On The Way

Real Time Regional Radar:

Today 6/7 – Partly Cloudy; Iso’d Thunderstorms Late – High 86º / Sat Night –  Sct’d Thunderstorms – Low 70º

Today, we will start off with partly cloudy skies and temperatures heating up into the middle 80s. By midmorning, we will se an increase in cloud cover as a low to our west makes its way towards our area.

Later this afternoon, we will see chances for a few isolated storms as a warm front moves northeast across the state.Check out the latest map from the WPC showing the warm front beginning to move northeast across the state by 7pm Saturday:

We will see moisture on the increase tonight which will lead to increase precipitation coverage as the low moves closer to us. Thunderstorms throughout the night will be capable of putting down some heavy rain in addition to lightning and gusty winds.  We’ll also have the marginal threat of seeing small hail or an isolated tornado spin up.

The SPC has Warren & Butler County on the eastern fringe of a slight (enhanced) risk of severe weather this afternoon into tonight.  We may see a cell or two pulse up to meet severe criteria (either producing ≥58mph winds and/or ≥1″ hail) :

That area of low pressure will pass just to our north on Sunday and bring us some more storm chances as well. Storms from Saturday night will push east of us by Sunday morning, but we could see more showers and storms throughout the day on Sunday as a weak cold front will mve south. At this time it looks like the severe parameters will not be in place for these storms to be come severe and our main threats will be heavy rain and lighting.

Highs will only be in the lower 80s on Sunday, but if we see some breaks in cloud cover throughout the day temperatures could get a little warmer than currently forecasted. The cold front will push through by early Sunday night, but we could see a few thundershowers overnight, especially early.

Mon– Mostly Cloudy, Iso’d Thunderstorms – High 82º / Sun Night – Scat’d Thunderstorms – Low 69º

On Monday, that cold front looks to sink to our south and stall out across Tennessee. This stationary front will be a boundary for convection to fire along and we will see a chance for isolated storms during the day on Monday, although most of the activity will stay to our south. The boundary will keep skies mostly cloudy and we will see high temperatures in the lower 80s once again Monday.

By Monday night, a cutoff low to our west will meander east and trigger some more storms in our area. Worst part is, this cutoff low looks to hang out through much of next week and bring chances for showers and thunderstorms each day. Storm chances for the next week? We’re in it for the long run…
