Real-Time Regional Radars:

————————————————————————————————————————————————

Today 5/12 – Partly Sunny; Iso’d PM Storms – High 87˚ /  Tonight – Partly Cloudy; Iso’d Storms – Low 65˚

7am 68˚ – 10am 77˚ – 1pm 84˚ – 4pm 87˚ – 7pm 81˚

Today’s weather will be nearly identical to what we experienced yesterday.  Warm, humid conditions will provide a foundation for isolated thunderstorms to develop this afternoon.  Follow the activity with the regional radars provided above.

Outside of that, we’ll be sitting under partly sunny skies.  Southerly winds will filter in at 10-20mph.

Yup…we’ve seen this forecast somewhere before.

Tue – Partly Cloudy; Scat’d PM Storms – High 84˚ / Tue Night – Scat’d Showers & Storms – Low 59˚

Another round of showers and thunderstorms…who woulda “thunk” it?  Don’t hang that head, we’ll support each other and get through it.

We’ll start off Tuesday with similar weather conditions as we’ve experienced the past few days.  With that being said, an approaching cold front will provide enhanced lifting, which in turn would support better chances for organized thunderstorm activity Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday.

At this time, widespread severe weather looks unlikely, although a few strong/severe storms look plausible Wednesday afternoon.  The GFS precipitable water model below is valid for Tuesday evening.

It paints a wet atmosphere across southern Kentucky, with drier air sweeping in behind the cold front to our west:

As the front takes its sweet time crossing the area, we’ll see scattered shower & storm chances continue Tuesday night & Wednesday.  It looks like the passing of this front will give us a nice cool down as we move into the last half of the work week.

Wed – Showers & Storms Likely; Cooler – High 72˚ / Wed Night – Showers Likely – Low 47˚

As the cold front continues to slice across the area, available moisture will coincide with this forcing mechanism to produce widespread showers & storms.  Although it may “rain on our parade,” the cooler temperatures that come along with it will be welcomed by all.  One that that will not be welcomed is the potential for severe weather Wednesday afternoon.

A series of disturbances will keep chances of rain in the forecast through the start of the weekend.  Overall, we’ll be looking at a very active week in the weather world.

Early rainfall guesstimates range from 1-2″ between now and Friday evening.  Take that with a grain of salt.

Our cooling trend looks to carry into the weekend, with highs not making it out of the 60s Thu – Sun.  Now THAT I can work with…
