Today’s forecast will have you going Napoleon Dynamite cray.

Today 3/31 – Sunny & Splendid – High 73˚ / Tonight – Iso’d Showers – Low 52˚

6am 35˚ ~ 9am 51˚~ 12pm 64˚ ~ 3pm 72˚ ~ 6pm 68˚ ~ 9pm 60˚

High pressure will track east across the area today, which will give us plenty of sunshine to enjoy.  This feature will also gift us with southerly flow that will help take highs into the 70s this afternoon.  Here’s a look at our surface conditions this morning:

If you’re looking for a mini vacation today, I’ve heard of a great place called outside.  You should go there this afternoon.  It’s not far away, and I hear its cheap.

Overnight, a weak, moisture deprived cold front will track east across our proximity, causing cloud cover to increase.  This may lead to a stray shower or two developing, however, I expect the majority of us to remain dry.

Tue – Partly Sunny – High 72˚ / Tue Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 52˚

A cold front will slice to our north around the Ohio River, which will give us a mix of sun and clouds to enjoy.  This boundary will be start a transition phase, which is expected to take the form of a warm front during the day Wednesday.

The location of the front will keep southerly flow intact across south central Kentucky, allowing temperatures to return to the lower 70s.  For Tuesday night, we’ll remain partly cloudy, mild & quiet.

Wed – Partly Sunny, Iso’d Storms – High 76˚ / Wed Night – Storms Likely – Low 59˚

The warm front will remain located to our north, as the parent low pressure system evolves over the Great Plains.  Multiple disturbances will ride along this boundary, firing off isolated storm chances on Wednesday afternoon, which will increase in likelihood as we get into Wednesday night – Friday.

The GFS precip model below is valid for 1pm Thursday afternoon, and paints a damp picture across the viewings area:

As we get later into the work week, the low pressure feature will cut a path east through the Ohio Valley.  This system’s associated cold front will advance west to east across our region, with the potential of bringing strong thunderstorms along with it.

We’ll await a few more runs of data before we start talking specifics, just know that the last half of the work week looks to be rather damp & stormy.

That’s going to be all for the morning update.  Stay in touch with @WarrenCountyWx & @WxOrNotBG for the latest weather info.  Have a great start to the week.  Thanks for reading.
