Just an FYI.

Today 3/18 – Partly Sunny, Breezy & NICE – High 63˚ / Tonight – Iso’d Showers – Low 45˚

6am 33˚ ~ 9am 44˚ ~ 12pm 54˚ ~ 3pm 62˚ ~ 6pm 60˚ ~ 9pm 54˚

Areas of fog this morning will warrant extra caution on the early commute.  Temperatures fluctuating near the freeze mark could create a few slick spots.

As forecast, a warm front has found itself north of our proximity, which will shift winds from out of the south today.  Winds of 10-20mph will transport much warmer air into south central Kentucky today.  By this afternoon, temp readings should reach into the low – mid 60s.  Here’s a look at the current conditions across the Continental US:

Tonight, a cold front will approach from the west, providing forcing which will coincide with available moisture to fire off isolated showers.  Measurable amounts of precip are not expected, as most us will remain dry.

Wed – Scat’d AM Showers, Breezy – High 60˚ / Wed Night – Clear – Low 34˚

A cold front will progress east across the area as an associated low pressure system tracks to our north.  Scattered showers will hang around throughout the early part of our Hump Day, with a mix of sun & clouds slated to take over by the afternoon.

A tightening pressure gradient along the boundary will result in southwesterly winds gusting up to 20-30mph.  The NAM Simulated Radar model below is valid for 5am Wednesday, and paints a few areas of the wet stuff overhead:

We’ll remain quiet & calm under mostly clear skies on Wednesday night, as lows tumble close to freezing.

Thu – Sunny – High 63˚ / Thu Night – Clear – Low 40˚

High pressure building in from the south will give us very nice conditions to enjoy through the end of the work week.  Southerly flow will create a warming trend across south central Kentucky, with values in the low – mid 60s Thursday, and potentially in the low 70s come Friday.

It will be a splendid few days, indeed!  We’re getting closer to swimming weather.  Better get your practice in now.

Our next weather maker will arrive on Friday night, as another cold front propagates eastward across our vicinity.  This will bring our next opportunity at showers and even a few thunderstorms.  No severe weather is expected.

That will wrap up the morning update.  Zack Leasor will be back this afternoon to bring you up to speed on the latest data.  Until then, stay in touch with us @WarrenCountyWx & @WxOrNotBG for the latest in weather information.  Have a great Tuesday.  Thanks for reading.
